Free Halloween days in Hyde Park 27 to 29 October, Hamleys' spooky shows from 24 October and an over-18s silent disco on 31 October, with times and prices.
Westminster has no council fireworks or pumpkin patch for Halloween, but it has three things worth planning around. The Royal Parks runs free Halloween days in Hyde Park from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 October. Hamleys on Regent Street puts on daily Halloween shows from Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October. On the night itself, London Transport Museum in Covent Garden holds an over-18s silent disco. Every date, time and price below comes from the organiser’s own page, checked on 4 October.
The quick answer
- Halloween is Saturday 31 October 2026, the day after Westminster’s half term ends (term dates).
- Free for families: the Royal Parks’ Hair raising Halloween days at the Hyde Park Learning Centre, Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 October, 11am to 3.30pm, last entry 3pm.
- Free in store: Hamleys Regent Street runs Halloween shows and character visits every day from 24 to 31 October.
- Adults only: London Transport Museum’s Halloween silent disco on Saturday 31 October, from £25.
Free Halloween days in Hyde Park
The Royal Parks’ Discovery Days: Hair raising Halloween run on Tuesday 27, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October, 11am to 3.30pm, with last entry at 3pm. They are free and drop-in.
What is on, according to the Royal Parks:
- “Feely boxes” in a Witches’ Den.
- A nature trail with facts along the way.
- A session on the bats that live in the Royal Parks.
- Spooky stories at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. The other activities run all day.
The activities are aimed at children of about 3 to 11. Dressing up is encouraged. The charity asks for no more than three children per adult, and only assistance dogs are allowed in. Food is not allowed inside the grounds, so picnic outside the centre or use the Serpentine Bar and Kitchen, about five minutes’ walk away.
Registering online gets you a reminder email, but it does not guarantee entry or skip the queue. On busy days staff may hand out numbered tickets, and they run activities outside the gate while you wait. Groups of more than 10 should email PublicProgrammes@royalparks.org.uk in advance.
The Learning Centre is in the middle of Hyde Park and the Royal Parks admits it is “well hidden”. Its what3words address is cabin.areas.urban.
One trap: the Royal Parks’ general “Spooky Season” half-term page still shows 29 to 31 October, which were last year’s dates. The event’s own page, linked above, says 27 to 29 October 2026.
Halloween week at Hamleys
Hamleys at 188-196 Regent Street lists a Halloween programme running every day from Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October:
| Show | Where in the store | Times |
|---|---|---|
| Shiver Me Tales | Front of store | 12.30pm and 3pm |
| Spooky Storytime | Front of store | 1.30pm and 3.30pm |
| Wilma’s Spooky Potions Puppet Show | Ground floor | 4.30pm |
| Tricks for Treats Dragon Show | Front of store | 5pm |
| The Monster Moonlit Dance Medley | Front of store | 5.30pm |
Hamleys lists no charge for any of these. Its descriptions under several titles are copied from other events, so expect the times above to hold but check the page nearer the day for what each show actually involves.
One half-term character visit sits alongside them at Regent Street: Armorsaurs on Wednesday 28 October at 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. The store opens 10am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and noon to 6pm on Sundays, according to its Regent Street page.
For adults on Halloween night
London Transport Museum’s Iconic silent disco: Halloween special runs on Saturday 31 October in two sessions:
- 6.30pm to 9pm
- 9.30pm to midnight
It is over-18s only. Tickets are £25 early bird and £27.50 at first release, and a carer or companion goes free. DJs play across the museum’s platforms among the old trains and buses, with bars and a craft table.
In Covent Garden itself, a Halloween pop-up bar, The Haunting, is running at 9 Russell Street. Covent Garden’s Halloween page says it is open until 31 October, though its competition page says 1 November. Tables are booked through the Covent Garden page; no prices are published.
Madame Tussauds on Marylebone Road keeps its Chamber of Horrors all year. It has not published a separate Halloween event for 2026.
What else is on that weekend
Saturday 31 October is busy in the West End:
- Leicester Square Christmas market opens that day: see our Leicester Square market page.
- St James’s Motoring Spectacle puts veteran cars on Pall Mall, then the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run leaves Hyde Park at sunrise on Sunday 1 November: times on our Veteran Car Run page.
- The Wallace Collection’s Big Draw day for families is on our half-term page, with the rest of the week’s free events.
Getting there and parking
Oxford Street closes to all traffic between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street from Monday 26 October, and buses stop using that stretch from the evening before: see our Oxford Street story. That is the start of half-term week, so allow longer for buses to Regent Street.
Driving into the West End on a Saturday in half term is slow and expensive. Hamleys points drivers to the car park on Brewer Street. Council bay prices and hours are on our pay-to-park page and parking zones page, and closures are on our roadworks and travel page.
For Bonfire Night the following week, see our fireworks page.
Still to be confirmed
- What each Hamleys show involves (see above).
- Whether Westminster libraries run Halloween sessions in half term. The council’s events calendar loads only in a browser, so we could not read it.
We will update this page as organisers publish more.
