Free tickets for Caxton Youth's first art auction on 19 November, 6pm to 9pm at 80 Victoria Street: work by learning disabled and autistic young people.
Caxton Youth Organisation, the Westminster youth club for learning disabled and autistic young people, is holding its first art auction on Thursday 19 November, from 6pm to 9pm on the mezzanine floor of 80 Victoria Street. Tickets are free, and the charity is asking residents and local businesses to come and bid.
The work on the walls was made over the summer by young people at Caxton’s creative sessions. Guests can look at the originals, bid on them, and buy prints and greeting cards made from them, which the charity is pitching as early Christmas shopping. Drinks and light refreshments are provided.

Why they are doing it
The money goes to Caxton’s arts and music programme. The charity says the auction is meant to keep those sessions running through the coming year, and describes what the young people get from them as “confidence, self-expression, friendships and community connection”.
Rose Swainston, Caxton’s chief executive, said:
“Our young people have poured so much imagination, skill and personality into these artworks, and we’re incredibly excited to share them with the wider community. This auction is about more than raising funds; it’s about celebrating creativity, recognising talent, and showing our young people just how many people believe in them and support them.”
The charity calls the evening “an important milestone”, one that brings supporters, local businesses, friends and neighbours into the same room “to celebrate the achievements of the young people and invest in their future”.
